Alternatives Present at RJ Event in Limerick

RJ Event in Limerick
Billy Drummond project manager of Shankill Alternatives presented at an RJ event in the Republic of Ireland following an invite to
 share RJ practice and learning with a Le Chéile Restorative Justice project in Limerick.  The event was  their 2nd annual RJ event “Diverse Needs, Unique Responses”, which brought together over 60 people from 18 community, voluntary and statuary agencies to look needs of people impacted by crime and conflict within local communities.
As well as Billy Drummond, Manager Greater Shankill Alternatives highlighting the work of Alternatives at a community level in Northern Ireland event speakers also included Sergeant Andy Tuite of An Garda Síochána;  Marie Kennedy, Le Chéile, RJ Project Worker; Assistant Governor Austin Stack, Irish Prison Services all presenting examples of restorative justice being developed in different settings in the Republic.
Commenting on the event Billy Drummond stated ” there is obviously a huge interest in the ROI for restorative justice and we were delighted to be invited to the event. We hope to develop ongoing partnerships with those groups that are creating restorative communities here in Limerick and across the ROI”.
